Medeama SC draw South African club Mamelodi Sundowns

Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC will play South African Club Mamelodi Sundowns in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup to battle for a spot in the group phase

The Tarkwa based club qualified to the draw of the 2nd 1/8th Final Draw in the Confederation Cup after beating Al Shendy by two goals to nil on aggregate.

The winners of the last round (1st 1/8th) of the CAF Confederation Cup were pitted against the losing clubs of the 1/8th round of the CAF Champions League to battle for a place in the group stage of the competition.

The clubs in the draw were ranked based on their performances at the group stage of the continental club championship from 2011 to 2015.

Medeama SC will travel to South Africa for the first leg of the game against Mamelodi Sundowns before entertaining them in Sekondi in the Western Region of Ghana.

Tom Strand and his team will qualify for the group phase if they win the game on aggregate.
