Ex-Chelsea striker joins Essien at Persib Bandung

Carlton Cole has followed Michael Essien in joining Indonesian side Persib Bandung.

The 33-year-old, who last played for the American team Sacramento Republic last year, has signed a 10-month deal with the club, with the option of an extension.

He underwent a medical in Bandung on Wednesday and was officially presented by the club on Thursday morning.

Carlton Cole played for Chelsea from 2001 to 2006, but had several loan spells with Wolves, Charlton Athletic, Aston Villa in between.Cole, however is best known for two successful spells at West Ham where he scored 59 goals and helped them back into the Premier League in 2012.Michael Essien also completed a one-year move to the Indonesian outfit some few weeks ago, so this is an opportunity for him to reunite with his former Chelsea teammate.
