Ex-Ghana international appointed as caretaker coach of German outfit

Charles Takyi has been named the caretaker coach of German fourth tier side KFC Uerdingen, according to reports

He will be in charge of the club alongside Kris Thackray for the time being.

Charles Takyi was signed to replace Mohammed Idrissu on a free transfer, but has been struggling with injury and has therefore been elevated to the technical team of the club.

The former Black Stars midfielder has had stints Hamburger SV, St. Pauli, SpVgg Greuther Fürth,etc.

Charles Takyi was part of the Ghana team that played in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon/Equatorial Guinea, coming on to replace Sulley Muntari against Mali in the group stage of the competition.
