Black Stars winger starts training with new La Liga club

Christian Atsu started training with Spanish La Liga side Malaga on Tuesday after completing a loan transfer move on Monday

Ghanaian player Christian Atsu underwent his first training session with his new Spanish La Liga side Malaga on Tuesday. The Chelsea player completed a loan transfer move to Spain from the English Premier League on Monday.

The Black Stars winger spent the first session of training with his new Malaga teammates before undergoing physical endurance tests away from his teammates during the second part of training.

Atsu was unveiled by Malaga on Tuesday and is set to wear the number 11 jersey for his new Spanish La Liga club.

Chelsea signed the Ghana international in 2013. The former FC Porto player was sent out on loan at Everton last season before joining AFC Bournemouth for the first half of this season.

The Premier League Champions cancelled the loan deal for Atsu with Premier League side Bournemouth to send him out to Spain as he continues his development. The player is yet to make his senior debut for Chelsea.

Christian Atsu will return to training with his new team on Wednesday at the Ciudad de Malaga atheletics stadium. Training will start at 10:30am local time in Spain.
