The story of poor pitches at the ongoing AFCON in Gabon took an embarrassing twist after Ghana and Mali were not allowed to warm up on the pitch before their group D  match in Port Gentil.

The quality big pitches at the tournament has been highlighted by several coaches who have blamed it for the spate of injuries that has rid the tournament big some of its stellar names.

Ghana's Baba Rahman, Gabon's Obiang and Burkina Faso's Jonathan Pitroipa have all fallen victims to the poor playing surfaces on offer.

It is not known if the teams will file an official complaint to CAF about this episode.

Port Gentil is expected to host two more group games as well as one quarter final clash.
