The Ministry of Youth and Sports has slashed the budget submitted by the GFA for the Black Stars participation in the 2017 from $5.4 million to US$ 3.4 m.

The Black Stars have pitched camp in Dubai ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon and the Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has disclosed that government will make $3.4 million available for the team’s participation in the competition.
"The Ghana Football Association presented a budget for the AFCON and it was $5.4 million but we have slashed it" says Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye. "We have now approved a budget of $3.4 million for the tournament" he told footballghana.com
Ghana who have been drawn in group D with Uganda, Mali and Egypt will leave the United Arab Emirates for Gabon on 14 January, before their opener on 17 January.
