Conte and Tuchel clash at full-time in the London derby

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has suggested that he only reciprocated what Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel brought to him after their Premier League match.

Conte and Tuchel were involved in a touchline spat at full-time with both managers locked in a fist squabble during the ceremonial manager shake of hands at the end of every match.

The latest instalment of the London derby between both clubs ended in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane grabbing a 96th-minute equaliser to pick up a point for Conte's side.

Speaking on the confrontation that led to both managers being shown red cards by referee Anthony Taylor, Conte suggested that it was Tuchel who came on to him aggressively.

The Tottenham manager said in his post-match press conference as reported by Football London that the video of the incident can be consulted to understand what happened.

Conte said: "There is video to understand what happened. I'm not passive. If I see aggressivity, I show aggressivity."

Conte went on to downplay the events, especially being shown a red card for his role in the squabble, which the Tottenham manager argued that the referee did not understand.

"The referee showed me a red card but he didn't understand the dynamic of what happened. It's not so important. It's not so important," Conte stated.

"It's ok, I have to accept. I repeat, I don't think it's a big problem. If it's a problem, it's between me and the other coach."

Both managers are at risk of being banned from the touchline for their respective Matchday 3 fixtures in the Premier League with Chelsea scheduled to play away at Leeds United while Tottenham Hotspur host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
