Be wary of Kariobangi threat- Kwesi Appiah warns Kotoko

The Black Stars coach has warned Kumasi Asante Kotoko ahead of their second leg CAF Confederation Cup game against Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya.

Kwesi Appiah

Kotoko will take on Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday in the second leg of their CAF Confederation clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The Porcupine Warriors earned a respectable goalless draw in Kenya against their opponents.

And ahead of the second leg clash against Kariobangi Sharks, Kwesi Appiah has cautioned Asante Kotoko to be wary of Kariobangi Sharks threat.

“I believe that even though Kotoko drew, it is not going to be easy. The most important thing is not looking at the goalless draw they got,'' Appiah said.

“They need to take the game like they are down by two goals or three goals and right from the blow of the whistle, the intention out there should be to try and get some goals in.”

Kariobangi Sharks are making their continental debut and eliminated Djiboutian side Arta Sola 9-1 on aggregate.

Appiah added: “In modern football, you can't underrate any team and a team that has played a goalless draw with you, that means they are equally good.

“So the most important thing is that the supporters should come there in their numbers to be behind the team.

“I believe the Kotoko spirit will enter all the players to give out their best and I believe they come out with a win.”
