Adam Kwarasey has been giving excuses- Kwesi Appiah

The Black Stars coach says the former Portland Timbers is still in his plans

Kwarasey was named in one of Kwesi Appiah’s squad for Black Stars games this year, but he opted out citing injury worries.

As it stands now Richard Ofori is Ghana’s number one, but several Ghanaians have concerns about his goalkeeping prowess, hence the call for an experienced player in the person of Adam Kwarasey to be considered.

However, Kwesi Appiah says the 29-year-old is unwilling to return to the Black Stars, despite remaining in his plans.

“There’s no single call up I don’t consider, with Adam Kwarasey I talked to him and asked Richard Kingston to take it up from there but getting to time to do the call ups , he gives excuses.

“No player should feel bigger than Ghana, Ghana is bigger than any player, ” Appiah stated.

Adam Kwarasey was allegedly dropped after Ghana’s defeat to US in Brazil 2014 after his teammates complained he had difficulty communicating with the in the local language.

And after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, he lashed out at the Black Stars goalkeepers’ trainer, questioning his tactics.
