Appiah managed the Black Stars between 2012 and 2014, but was relieved of his duties after failing to guide the team out of the group stages of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
However, after Avram Grant resigned as Ghana boss last month, the Al Khartoum boss has been touted as the favourite to replace the Israeli.
J.E Sarpong believes the coach will succeed if appointed as Ghana coach, but was quick to caution that he must not trust members of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
"Appiah's return to the Black Stars is very good," J.E Sarpong said in an interview with Peace FM."He will succeed even more than he did during his previous days with the team.

Reports in the local media suggest that Appiah will be officially confirmed as Ghana coach in the coming weeks.
