Richmond Boakye Yiadom believes he has a chance of being fit for Ghana's AFCON qualifier against Sudan later this month.

The 27-year old picked up an injury while playing for Red Star Belgrade in their goalless stalemate against Partizan Belgrade on Sunday.

Reports suggest the Ghanaian striker will be spending a month on the treatment table — and coach Charles Akonnor was whether he would be ready to face Sudan.

But Boakye Yiadom does not feel the injury is serious and will give it as long as possible to settle down.

“It was just a knock and I am currently recuperating, ” the Red Star Belgrade forward told Ghanasoccernet.

“I cried when I was taken off because I wanted to give my all to the team in the derby against Partizan which is the biggest game in Serbia. I didn’t cry because of the injury.”

“For now I am feeling better and I will be ready for the AFCON qualifier against Sudan.”

Ghana will play Sudan on March 27 in Cape Coast before the second leg in Omdurman three days later.

Boakye-Yiadom has featured fourteen times for Ghana with 6 goals to his credit.
