Angry Tuchel punish Chelsea players following Champions League defeat at Dinamo Zagreb

Like the popular saying "no rest for wicked", Tuchel has revealed that Chelsea players will experience no rest.

Following their 1-0 loss at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has insisted that there will be no rest day for his abysmal players as they look to return to winning ways.

The 2021 Champions League winners could not produce any spectacle in their opening game of the 2022/23 Champions League campaign, falling to a 1-0 defeat in front of 20000+ fans at Stadion Maksimir.

A solitary strike from Mislav Orsic in the 13th minute of the game was all that separated the Group E sides at full-time.

Speaking after the horrific display from his side who have been in horrible form on their travels in recent weeks, losing at Leeds and Southampton, Tuchel conceded that “Everything is missing.”

“It’s an underperformance from us. I need to say sorry like always. We had an OK start but we did not take our half chances. It was there to put to bed in the first 15, to 20 minutes. But we concede one on the counter-attack and from there it was far too easy.

“There is too much to analyse. I am a part of it. But I am angry at myself, I am angry about our performance. It is on me, it is on us. It is up to me to find solutions. At the moment, everything is missing!”

“There is no day off in the planning and there cannot be a day off,” the German tactician said when asked if his players will get a day off.

“It is obvious that we underperform individually. I don’t know where this performance today comes from. It’s a lack of hunger, intensity, a lack of determination to win duels actually to do things on the highest level.

"You cannot expect to win games, not in the Premier League, or Champions League. We are not where we want to be.”

On Saturday, Chelsea will play Fulham in the Premier League - another opportunity to improve their dismal away record when they travel to Craven Cottage.
