Elmina Sharks part ways with coach Kobina Amissah

Coack Kobina Amissah is no longer the head coach of Elmina Sharks.

This comes after Kobina Amissah was offered the position of technical director of the side but refused to assume his new role. Both parties have now parted ways.

A letter signed by Groupe Ndoum, owners of Elmina Sharks and women’s football club Sea Lions FC spelt out the circumstances which led to the coaches contract termination.

Coach Kobina Amissah was offered a contract for close to month which was to see him take up the role of technical director of Elmina Sharks and women’s soccer team also owned by Groupe Ndoum Sea Lions FC.

Amissah was first served the notice to be re-assigned as technical director in October, 2017. Negotiations went on in January which according to reports was accepted in principle.

However coach Amissah did request to extend the one year contract term to that of 5 years.

The club have therefore decided to terminate the old contract as a coach and revoked the new offer as a technical director.

This is because he has not shown any commitment to the new role since the January negotiations.
