FIFA Disciplinary Committee Chairman Justice Anin Yeboah nominated as next Chief Justice

President Akufo-Addo has nominated the chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, Justice Anin Yeboah as the next Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana.

He will replace the current Chief Justice Sophia Akufo who goes on retirement.

Justice Anin Yeboah is currently serving as the chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee. He was appointed onto the FIFA DC in 2016 and he replaced former Swiss footballer and attorney, Sulser Claudio as the chairman in 2017.

The Astute Ghanaian Judge has served as a member of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Appeal Committee and on various judicial bodies of the Ghana Football Association which are; the Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Committee.

Justice Anin Yeboah is currently the fourth longest-serving Justice of the Supreme Court.

A graduate of the Ghana School of Law in 1981, he was appointed to the Supreme Court by President John Agyekum Kufuor in June 2008. Prior to that, he had served as a Justice of the High Court from 2002 to 2003 and a Justice of the Court of Appeal from 2003 to 2008.

If approved by Parliament he will succeed the retiring Justice Sophia Akufo who will be stepping down at the end of the year
