I deserve to be CAF vice-president – Kwesi Nyantakyi

The GFA boss believes he is qualified enough to be made CAF vice-president.

The CAF Executive Committee member believes he has done enough to warrant being appointed into the role.

Reports circulating in the local media indicate that newly elected CAF president Ahmad Ahmad is considering Nyantakyi as his first vice-president.

And the GFA president has confirmed that he is ready to ascend to the role if the opportunity arises.

“It is said that there is no smoke without fire. Due to the calibre of people on the Caf exco, they have realised that I have the experience as one of the long serving members of African football, from the member associations, I deserve to be vice president of CAF,” Nyantakyi is quoted as saying by Graphic Sports.

“Indeed, I did not know what was in store for me [in the past that’s why I didn’t talk about it]. Now, I think I have taken my time to groom myself now that I know it is a path chosen for me by God. I think I’m ready and I have the time, expertise, experience and energy to play that role as CAF vice president.”

If elected as CAF’s vice-president, it will represent another high for Nyantakyi who was earlier voted as a FIFA. Council Member.
