The match day 24 of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) produced 17 goals from seven league games

There were two away wins and four home wins, with a game ending in a goalless draw on match day 24.

The clubs that won on the road were Gt. Olympics and Bechem United.

It was a week of brace: Three different players registered a brace, namely Evans Obeng of Berekum Chesea, Thomas Abbey of Hearts of Oak and Felix Addo of Elmina Sharks.

Thomas Abbey made the headlines when he scored twice against Tema Youth including a master class. The two goals have made him the joint leading top scorer in the Ghana Premier League with 12 goals as Amed Toure of Bechem United.

Elmina Sharks continued their winning run, when they managed to edge Bechem United 2-1 to go four-game winning spree.

Liberty Professionals bounced back to winning ways as they piped AshGold by a goal to nil. They had lost three consecutive games before the weekend game and had been pushed to the drop zone. The win against AshGold was a six pointer, because while Liberty picked the three points they denied the Miners the three points at stake and managed to lift themselves from the relegation and in their place AshGold have gone down after teh defeat against the Scientific Soccer lads.

AshGold have suffered back to back defeats: They lost match day 23 game against Elmina Sharks at home and have lost an away fixture.

Hearts of Oak after having their game against Kotoko on match day 23 postponed indefinitely returned to action against Tema Youth, winning 3-1

The top liner at the T and A Park ended in s a stalemate between Medeama and Aduana Stars.

Accra Gt. Olympics stunned Inter Allies at the El-wak Sports Stadium to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation alive. They have demonstrated that they are the most inconsistent side in the league-they lost 0-4 at home to Tema Youth and also conceded three goals without a reply against Medeama at their back yard, but upset Inter who had been flying high.

Asante Kotoko’s game against WAFA couldn’t come off due to the fatal accident suffered by Asante Kotoko last two weeks.
