Government agrees to withdraw court case against GFA after meeting FIFA

The government of Ghana and FIFA to set up a Normalization Committee to replace the GFA Executive Committee.

Government placed an injunction on all football activities after multiple award winning journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas premiered an undercover piece to unravel the rots in Ghana football.

All football activities have come to a standstill for the past two months, but a liaison team was put up liaise with FIFA and CAF to ensure Ghana participated in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and the African Youth Championship.

FIFA in a letter dated 13 August ordered Ghana government to drop all charges against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in its quest to dissolve the body.

Ghana government upon receiving the news sent a delegation led by Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo to Zurich for a meeting with FIFA.

The two bodies have now agreed to set a Normalisation Committee to replace the Executive Committee of the GFA to lead the way for reforms in Ghana football.
