Gyan backs Partey for BBC Footballer of The Year award

Party was announced as part of a five-man shortlist for the award, having enjoyed a fruitful year for both club and country.

As a first-time nominee, Partey is expected to face stiff competition for the award, with Salah tipped as the bookmaker’s favourite.

However, Gyan believes the Atletico Madrid midfielder has done enough to be equally considered as a strong contender for the award.

“It’s now his time and he really deserves the nomination. He has done a lot for both club and country and he deserve to be there. So I urge every Ghanaian to start voting to make sure Thomas Partey wins [the BBC African Footballer of The Year],” Gyan told Joy FM’s Benedict Owusu.
