Here is why Majeed Waris joined Nantes

The Ghanaian striker has sealed a season long loan move to the French Ligue 1 outfit and here is why he settled on them.

He indicated that his quest to get more playing time made him settle on Nantes.

"I don't have a preferred position, I just want to score goals," Waris, who can play on either flank and as a hitman, said at his official unveiling.

"I wanted to play more, to improve, hence my choice to come to Nantes."

Majeed Waris was declared surplus to requirement by FC Porto’s new manager, after struggling to find his feet in the Portuguese topflight league.

The Ghanaian striker is familiar with the French Ligue 1, having excelled in previous years at clubs such as Lorient and Valenciennes.
