Marc Wilmots parts ways with Ivory Coast out of mutual consent

Marc Wilmots took charge of Cote D’Ivoire football senior national team in March 2017. Wilmots has then lost his job 6 months in as he pays the ultimate price for not qualifying Ivory Coast to the World Cup in Russia 2018.

Wilmots met with the top hierarchy in Ivorian football and parted ways in the team by mutual consent.

Marc Wilmots took was in charge of Belgium in the Euro 2016 which saw them exit the quarter final by kind courtesy Wales.

Ivory Coast have failed to qualify for the world cup after three successive times.

2017 has not been a good year for Ivory Coast as the side exited this year’s African Cup of Nations in the group stage under Wimot’s predecessor Micheal Dusseyer.
