Mbappe inspired me to join Monaco- Eric Ayiah

The former skipper of the Black Starlets has stated his inspiration for choosing AS Monaco.

Ayiah, 18 signed his first professional contract with AS Monaco, after excelling at the U-17 level while playing for Ghana in both the African U-17 Championship and the juvenile World Cup.

Eric Ayiah after training for some time now with the French side has been offered a deal and he says, he settled on AS Monaco, despite several interest from other clubs because of players like Kylian Mbappe, Anthony Martial who were developed by the 2004 UEFA Champions League losing finalists.

“I had several offers, but my management told me to be patient, because they were looking forwarding to landing me a mega deal.

“I was happy upon hearing that Monaco have come knocking. Actually, the mere fact that they nurtured players like Mbappe and Martial inspired me to give them my consent,” he told Silver FM.

The Ghanaian youngster joined AS Monaco from Charity Stars, a lower division club in Ghana.
