Asante Kotoko booked their ticket in the round of 16 after beating third-tier side Real 24 Hours FC 2-0 on Saturday at Tumu while their bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak on the same day got crushed out by second-tier Samartex after losing 2-4 on penalties.

There were massive shocks over the weekend in the round of 32 of the 2016 MTN FA Cup competitions as Premier League clubs like Hearts of Oak, Inter Allies, Ashanti Gold and Ebusua Dwarfs were all kicked out of the tourney by lower-tier sides.

In the other fixtures, third-tier side Emmanuel FC beat Inter Allies 2-1, Elmina Sharks eliminated Dwarfs vie penalty shoot-outs and Asokwa Deportivo kicked out Ashanti Gold.
