Making the final three Ballon d'Or nominations should be one of Neymar's best career moments so far but it is coming at the cost of £1.4 million for Barcelona.

Neymar alongside his Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo are the final three in the running for this year's Ballon d'Or.

Barcelona are to pay Neymar's former club the huge sum as a result of a clause inserted in the Brazilian’s contract when he made the switch to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2013.

Neymar has had a huge year, playing a major part of Barcelona's treble winning 2014/215 season.
