South Korean star Cho Gue-Sung bombarded with marriage proposal for being handsome

According to a report from the Athletic, Cho Gue-Sung has been forced to turn off his phone as he is in demand.

The South Korean striker has been getting messages from female fans who have bombarded him with marriage proposals daily in Qatar.

Per the Athletic, the Taeguk Warrior came into the 2022 FIFA World Cup as a little-known but has since gone viral for being handsome.

Cho came into the limelight after he netted two superb headers during that 3-2 defeat to West African team the Black Stars in the second game in the group stage.

His goals that day were not enough to help Korea complete what would have been a remarkable turnaround, having gone two goals down, as Ghana scored a third to seal the win.

However, the forward has become a sensation online, going viral for being handsome and getting marriage proposals that have left him sleepless in Qatar.

“He had to get some rest, his phone was going all night. It was keeping him awake. He was trying to concentrate on football and, all the time, the messages were coming," the Athletic quoted a Korean journalist.

A social media sensation

Apart from getting marriage proposals that could see him leapfrog the Biblical character, King Solomon should accept them, Cho has seen a remarkable boost in his social media followership.

At the start of the tournament, he had just around 20, 000 followers on Instagram and around twice that on Twitter.

However, all that has changed now as the striker has seen a surge on his followers, with 1.6 million on IG and over one million on Twitter in just a few days.

“When I first saw his Instagram account, he had 40k, now he’s on one million in just a few days. Cho Gue-sung, the powerful man that you are! Thank you for the two beautiful goals and making history today, king. Now, accept my hand in marriage," one of the admirers posted per Athletic.
