Consultative Forum was needless - Joseph Yamin

Former Minster Joseph Yamin says the previous government already had a blueprint which just needed to be implemented.

According to him, his administration had already drafted a plan to introduce a sports fund in which the current administration only needed to implement.

“We have already done it. There is a document there why do you repeat it? This thing we have passed that process so they are just taking us back.

It should not have repeated in the sense that there is already a blue print and a document there unless Isaac Asiamah does not know.”

I will be surprise because the Parilamentary Select Sports Committee which Asiamah was a part of is aware of everything that happens in the Sports Ministry.

What we needed to do was the implementation stage and what we are going to do.

For instance, the Finance Minister said that he was going to implement a Zongo Development and 100million cedis was going to be used as seed money. We then channel all resources to generate that amount then we takeoff.

With regards to the Sports Fund nothing was said when we were reading the budget then the Sports Minister comes back to repeat what has already been done.

Where are we going with this? Wearestill at standstill."

In December 2017, the Sports Ministry with the National Sports Authority held a consultative forum to ascertain ways the Sports Fund will be created.

Thecurrent government looks forward to establish a Sports Fund by the end of 2018.
