But the player who grabbed the headlines was Inter Milan’s latest recruit Romelu Lukaku who registered four goals in his debut for the Italian giants.

Asamoah was involved in the first of the four goals scored by the Belgian against Virtus Bergamo- he located the former Manchester United striker with a well-executed cross which was headed home.

The Ghanaian international also delivered another assist when he set up Matias Veccino with a pin-point cross at the far post- the Uruguayan international pounced on the ball with his head to increase the tally for the Nerazzurri.

Club record signing Lukaku after completing his protracted move from Manchester United to Inter Milan in reported €80million deal, ending weeks of speculation featured in his first game for the three-times champions of Europe.

Handed the number nine jersey, previously worn by Mauro Icardi, Lukaku made a good first impression as he netted half of Inter's goals in an 8-0 thrashing. Matias Vecino and Sebastiano Esposito, two other players in need of minutes, scored braces to complete the rout.
