Stephen Appiah gave the Black Stars words of encouragement to lift their spirits, before they stepped out for the clash against Congo in Brazzaville.
A hat-trick from Thomas Partey and a brace by Richmond Boakye Yiadom saw the Black Stars thrash the Red Devils of Congo on Tuesday in Brazzaville.
The playing body of the senior male national football team had been booed at home by the Kumasi fans after they were held to a one all draw by Congo.
Hence, they needed someone to motivate them moving into the reverse fixture in Brazzaville.
And that is where the presence of Stephen Appiah in the team as the Technical Coordinator became beneficial.
He told them to forget about the winning bonus and focus on how to make themselves and the nation proud.
