Following a pulsating 1-1 draw after extra-time, it was the Teranga Lions who emerged victorious by sealing a 3-1 win in the ensuing penalty shootout.
The result meant Ghana once again missed out on a trophy after losing on penalties, and this has sparked criticism from certain quarters.
Reacting after the loss to Senegal, Konadu said, although the overall effort of his side wasn’t good enough, the team did everything tactically right.
“The match wasn't bad, it was a tough and very tactical match which was very good," Konadu said in the aftermath of the game.
“The level was very high. We knew the Senegalese have a young and talented team. We also have good squad and we knew the match was going to be difficult.
“Initially we sat back to soak the pressure and tried to play on counter-attacks but it couldn't work. Black Stars' effort was not good enough to win the game.
“Tactically, we did everything right. We were able to neutralise our opponent's offensive players - that help my team a lot."
Ghana, however, remains the most successful side in the tournament with two titles, while Senegal have now won their first ever WAFU Cup of Nations title.
