Erstwhile-Black Stars assistant coach reports Ghana to the Spanish Embassy

Gerard Nus has lodged a complaint with the Embassy that he hasn’t been paid for his service during the 2017 AFCON

Nus was added to the backroom staff of the Black Stars by erstwhile coach of the team Avram Grant as one of the assistant coaches, but he is yet to be paid for the service he rendered during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

And a top rank of the Spanish Embassy in Accra told SportsObama.com “We have received a written request from him (Nus) and he has been frequent here about the unpaid salary issue”,

“He says about the unfair treatment and unacceptable situation the Ghanaian football authorities have taken him through and he wants the issue resolved or it could end terrible”,

“We are in close contact with him to ensure his safety and upkeep whiles we try to also get in touch with the other stakeholders who are in charge of his employment”,

He played a role when the Black Stars reached the final of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea in 2015 and was again engaged during the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.

However, following the decision of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Avram Grant not to sign a new contract, it has automatically ended any dealings that Gerard Nus has with the senior national team of Ghana.

But, the Spanish after Ghana finished fourth in the 2017 AFCON is yet to be paid his benefits and has therefore stayed in the country for weeks waiting for the Ministry of Youth and Sports to sort things out.
