In analysing their performances in the league, Pulse Sports have concluded on 11 flopped players after the first round of games.

Philemon McCarthy – WAFA
The 29 year-old shot stopper returned to the Academy side with the hope of reviving his career. He had young goalkeepers like Razak Abalora and Theophilus Jackson to compete with but he was second fiddle to the duo.

Out of 15 games WAFA played in the first round, McCarthy failed to get into John Kila’s starting XI.
Simon Martey – Inter Allies
The Eleven is To One side’s captain this season has been a pale shadow of himself. Inter Allies prior to the season were tipped to do well but after the first round of the Ghana Premier League season, they are 13th on the league log.
Martey, the experienced player in Allies’ set up despite starting majority of his side’s games has not been encouraging which has forced the Tema based side’s technical handlers to use Wahab Akwei as make-shift right-back.
Emmanuel Asante – Kotoko

The young left-back joined the Kumasi giants last season from Bechem United but his performances was hampered with a lot of niggling injuries.
Ahead of the 2015/16 season, he recovered in time and was part of the club’s pre-season preparations. But after 15 games in the first round, he has not started a game. Asante made his season debut when he came on in the second half in his side’s week 10 2-1 away win over Hearts of Oak.
Patrick Opoku – Medeama SC
The hard tackler joined Medeama SC prior to the 2015/16 season after the Tarkwa giants transferred Evan Quao to Kotoko.
Since his transfer his performance has not been the best as he has failed to break into the starting XI of the 2015 FA Cup champions.

Stephen Adioo – Dwarfs
One of the experienced legs in the Ghana Premier League is Stephen Aidoo. He captained the Cape Coast based side to qualify to the Premier League after an impressive performance.
Aidoo prior to the league was touted as one of the best defenders but despite playing 99% of Dwarfs’ games in the first round, his output and leadership on the field has been questionable.
Eric Opoku – Ashanti Gold
Ashanti Gold’s midfielder last season was voted as the best player in the league as he helped the Miners to win the Premier League.

He was expected to replicate last season’s performances in the 2015/16 season but after the first round of games, Opoku has failed to engineer his team as the defending league champions who are at the 12th on the log sheet. His performance so far is nothing to write home about.
Alhassan Nuhu – Ashanti Gold
The Miners broke bank for his signature after a sterling performance in last season’s league when he was at New Edubiase. He scored four goals and provided seven assists, but in the Yellow and Black jersey this season, he is struggling to be seen.
Noah Martey – Aduana Stars
Another big flop in the first half of the Ghana Premier League season. Last season at Bechem United, he scored over 8 goals. The midfielder then joined Aduana Stars. He started the club’s first two games but since then he has been a bench warmer.

Eric Gawu – Dreams FC
The former Hearts of Oak and King Faisal forward was one of the reason the Kweiman based club sealed a dramatic qualification to the Ghana Premier League, he scored 11 goals for Dreams FC during their campaign in division one.
After the club’s qualification, the spot light was on him to deliver the goals for the club but the former Black Stars forward has failed to do so. Due to his poor display, C.K Akonnor picks young forward Lawson Bekui ahead of him.
Fuseini Nuhu – Ashanti Gold
A prolific goal scorer Fuseini Nuhu is. During his stint with New Edubiase, he scored 12 goals in last season’s league. He then joined Ashanti Gold prior to the 2015/16 season.

After 15 games, he has scored only two goals, making him one of the biggest flops after the first half of the season.
Foovi Aguidi – Hearts of Oak
The Togolese international is the only player in the Accra giants’ set up who has been very poor. He has failed to win the hearts of Hearts of Oak fans.
In the second half of last season’s league, Foovi was in fantastic shape. His goals helped the former Premier League champions to escape relegation by a whisker. Now after 15 games, the former Santos striker is yet to score.
