Ashgold edge Edubiase in Adansi derby

Ghana Premier League Champions Ashanti Gold won their game against New Edubiase on Wednesday

Ashanti Gold defeated New Edubiase United 2-1 at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on match day 8 of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The Miners had to come from a goal down to beat New Edubiase United after Abdul Wahab Hannan had powered his side into the lead in the 30 minute.

However, Ashgold who didn’t want to witness a back to back defeat at Obuasi, although were being hosted this time around by New Edubiase came into the party in the 31 minutes with the equalizer from Francis Adjei.

Before Anthony Yerful’s powerful ball beat the goalkeeper to win the day for Ashanti Gold in the 72 minute.

This would calm down tempers at Obuasi, after suffering three defeats on the trot in all competitions: lost 1-5 to liberty Professionals, before Dreams FC piped them at Obuasi and were seen off from the FA Cup by Asokwa Deportivo on penalties.

There were much calls for the sack of the head coach Bashiru Hayford., following their home defeat to Dreams FC.
