Bashir Hayford certain AshGold will start winning

"We have not started very good but I think we’re on course. We are gradually picking our pieces together; we are just taking each game at a time" - Bashir Hayford

The Miners drew their fourth successive game in Saturday against Aduana Stars, and questions over their ability to defend the Ghana Premier League title began hitting airwaves.

The league champions were knocked out of the CAF Champions League by M.O Bejaia of Algeria, but remain unbeaten in the domestic top flight club football competition.

Their unbeaten run is however dwarfed by high flying Hearts of Oak and Wa All Stars. Bashir Hayford is more concerned with performance of his club not media attention.

He admits their start in this year's league is poor per their standard, but promises the draws will soon turn to victories.

"We have not started very good but I think we’re on course. We are gradually picking our pieces together; we are just taking each game at a time.

“We know people are expecting a lot from the League champions but as I said we are on course and surely we will bounce back to winning ways just as we did last season,” he said.

AshGold have 7 points out possible 15 after 5 matches league matches.
