Preview: Inter Allies eye Hearts of Oak scalp

Inter Allies will seek to hand Ghana Premier League leaders Hearts of Oak their first defeat of the season this weekend

Inter Allies despite their inconsistent performance in the ongoing campaign are poised for action against the current best team in the league who are leading the log sheet with 10 points, winning three and drawing one.

The Tema based side out of their four games, have won one, drawn two and lost one and their last home game they drew 2-2 with premier league debutantes Dreams FC.

Both sides will be going into the game with their target being the three points and that will make the league game very interesting but on many occasions the Phobians have struggled to play on the Astroturf.

Coach Herbert Addo will be meeting his former side who are yet to concede an away goal in the Premier League and if Hearts of Oak want to consolidate their lead, then they must play above themselves to beat stubborn Inter Allies who are very strong at home since making their Premier League debut in 2013.

Inter Allies last home game against Hearts of Oak was in the 2014/15 league were they defeated the Accra giants 2-1 courtesy Gockel Ahortor's late strike.

“Last season I was much excited as well as the whole team after that goal and win because I scored very late in the game and sealed the win,” Ahortor said ahead of the game.

“This season, I want to score against them once more. I know if I keep playing well in midfield then I’ll hopefully create more chances for the team and for myself too.”

But Hearts of Oak winger Thomas Abbey says their aim is to maintain their unbeaten run.

“We have started the season very well and we are not looking back. We know Inter Allies will be a hard nut to crack but our aim is to maintain our unbeaten run.

“We are not ready to relinquish our lead to any club so on Sunday the target is to beat Inter Allies for the three points,” said Abbey.
