The announcement of the re-appointment of the former coach of the Tarkwa lads happened just three weeks after Tom Strand resigned as the head coach of the club, following a 1-3 defeat to Sundowns in South Africa.
Prince Yaw Owusu appointed as Medeama coach
The CAF Confederation Cup campaigners have confirmed the signing of Prince Yaw Owusu as the new coach of the club.

The technical director of Medeama SC, Evans Adotey has been training the team for league matches and has done pretty well, since the exit of Tom Strand, having won 2 and drawn 1 of the 3 league games in charge, in addition to propelling them to the group stage of the Confederation Cup for the first time.
However, due to the busy schedules of the technical director of the team, who doubles as the coach of the national U-17 Women’s team of Ghana, the Black Maidens, who will be leaving the nation in September for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Jordan, Medeama have reappointed Yaw Owusu coach as Tom Strand’s replacement.
James Essilfie, Chief Executive of Medeama expressed his outfit’s delight at securing the signature of Prince Yaw Owusu.
“I like to take this opportunity to welcome him again to Medeama. He is a great coach with an enviable eye for spotting talents,” he told the club’s website.
“We believe he’s the right man to steer the side to success in both the league and on the continent.”
Prince Owusu has stated that he is excited to re-join Medeama SC.
“To be a coach of Medeama again is an honour for me. It’s a club I admire and I look forward to a successful tenure.
“I have always felt an affinity with this wonderful club.I have always enjoyed a rapport with the Medeama fans. I’m looking forward to being their coach and enjoying their magnificent support.
Prince Yaw Owusu is a renowned coach with vast experience, having worked previous as the assistant coach of the Black Satellites and also assisted ex-Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah at Al Khartoum FC of Sudan.
