This is why Yaw Preko moved to Nigeria instead of coaching in Ghana

I’m very adventurous so I decided to seek a fresh challenge outside - Former Hearts of Oak coach Yaw Preko.

Preko was appointed as deputy coach of Ifeanyi Ubah on Wednesday. The former national star was on the verge of joining Ghana Premier League side Ebusua Dwarfs before his move to Ifeanyi Ubah but opted to sign for the Nigerian side.

Preko has explained the reason for his latest move, insisting that he couldn’t reject the offer from Ifeanyi Ubah.

“I’m very adventurous so I decided to seek a fresh challenge outside instead of Dwarfs and the offer too is good,” Preko told the state-owned Graphic Sports.

“It is true I spoke with Dwarfs officials but it was 50-50 because I told also them about the offer from the Nigerian club.

“It is not like I swerved them to sign for the Nigerian club. I told them there was a deal I was still considering and that I could only consider their offer if that one fails to materialise, so they know,” he added.

At Ifeanyi Ubah, Preko will be working with his former boss at Hearts of Oak Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
