Asante Kotoko have closed in on Hearts of Oak after maintaining their winning spree on match day 13.

Match day 13 registered 5 victories and 3 draws, which was better than match day 12 which recorded only 3 wins

Hearts of Oak kept their away unbeaten run intact when they earned a point from the dreaded, Nana Agyeman Badu II Park, Dormaa in their one all draw against Aduana Stars.

Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s charges have secured 4 wins, 3 draws from 7 away league games this season, a total of 15 points of their 25 points amassed, making them the best away performer.

Aduana Stars 5 consecutive league victories in the league was halted by Hearts of Oak to shatter their plan of dislodging the Phobians from the top of the league table, after match day 13.

Asante Kotoko who were lying bottom of the league ladder after match day 6 have rewritten their story under caretaker coach Michael Osei, having lifted themselves from the bottom to 3rd position on the league table, with just 2 points separating them from the leaders, Hearts of Oak.

Michael Osei has guided Kotoko to 6 wins out of the 7 league games in charge of the club, losing only to New Edubiase United and has propelled the club to 4 straight wins starting from the victory they earned against Hearts in Accra.

The woes of Inter Allies continued on match day 6 as Kotoko handed them a 1-0 defeat to extend their winless streak to 6.

The league champions, Ashanti Gold, who are draw experts, added another one to their name when Wa All Stars held them to a goalless draw at the Len Clay Sports Stadium, Obuasi to take them to 8 draws in 13 league games this season.

There was no away league victory. This is the third time this season that no team recorded a win on the road. Match day 3 and day 4 were the other match days without an away win.

Yahaya Mohammed and Latif Blessing are joint leading top scorers in the league with 9 goals. Both players couldn’t register their names on the score sheet on match day 13.

Dauda Mohammed has scored the fastest goal of the season. It came under one (1) minute against Dreams FC at Dawu on match day 8

Charles Boateng was the first player to score a goal this season, when his opener aided WAFA to edge Kotoko 2-0, with Samuel Tetteh scoring the other in the opening day of the Ghana Premier League

The first hat-trick of the season was registered by Samuel Tetteh on match day 3 when WAFA thrashed Hasaacas 5-0. Yahaya Mohammed has registered the second hat-trick of the season, after hitting 3 past Hasaacas on match day 8
