Athletic Bilbao forward wants to become a leader in Spain squad

The 21-year old Athletic Bilbao is hoping to become a leader in the Spain squad following his call-up for the pre-Euro 2016 friendlies with Bosnia-Herzegovina, South Korea and Georgia.

Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams has expressed his ambition at international level for the Spanish national team, having been called up to the national squad for the first time

"I did not expect to be here. Everything was very fast. I am very grateful and very excited," Williams said.

"I'm meeting my deadlines. I want to strengthen my place in the team and in the selection and hope to be one of the leaders in the selection in future."

Inaki Williams is one of 10 uncapped players in the squad for those games, having scored 13 games in all competitions this season.

He qualifies to the play for three countries- Ghana, Spain and Liberia. Inaki was born in Spain to a Ghanaian father and a Liberian mother.

Inaki has grown through the ranks at Bilbao after joining them as a teen some couple of seasons back.
