I never told FA not to appoint me on any position

"Whatever you're doing in human endeavour, you must think fast ahead of time and that was what I did" - Kudjoe Fianoo

The Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Gold Sporting Club was a member of the FA ExCo, but lost his seat during the FA elections in August last year.

It is alleged Mr. Fianoo wrote to the FA not to appoint him to serve the football governing body on any capacity, but according to him, he was only smart to leave the scene because he saw a looming reshuffle that was going to affect him.

"These are all allegations," Mr. Fianoo began in an interview with Pulse.com.gh.

"Whatever you're doing in human endeavour, you must think fast ahead of time and that was what I did. I haven't written to the GFA that I wanted to take a backseat.

"I happen to be the vice chairman of the Black Stars management committee, and chairman of the media committee of the GFA by virtue of the fact that I was a member of the Executive Committee.

"We practice a convention at the FA, apart from the adjudicating bodies which are headed by professionals, the other committees are headed by members of the Executive Committee, so i became chairman of the media committee because I used to be on the Executive Committee.

"But here I am, I have lost an election, that will definitely take away those positions from me. So I should sit down and reshuffle comes and I'm sacked? So I must think ahead.

"Haven lost that position, I don't have the eligibility to occupy those positions anymore, so that was the decision, there was no ill-feeling or whatever," he revealed.

During preparations for elections, candidates find available loopholes to earn the mandate of delegates to the detriment of their opponents; and according to the former Chairman of the FA media committee, his decision was misinterpreted.

"We were in politics and people will interpret or misinterpret every move to suit themselves. I just felt that I saw a looming reshuffle that was going to affect me so I was smart enough to leave the scene before it happens," he said.

Kudjoe Fianoo won the 2016 GHALCA elections with 63 votes, 50 more than his opponents: Kofi Poku, Isaac Wilberforce Koomson and Nana Oduro Sarfo who all had 13 votes each out of the 102 eligible votes cast last Friday.
