Black Stars striker linked with move to Southend

Kwesi Appiah has been linked with a move to the third-tier English side

Kwesi Appiah, after recovering last month from a career-threatening injury has been left out of the Crystal Palace team for the season.

Several clubs have been monitoring the Ghanaian international, but it is understood Southend are keen to landing him.

"There are two or three other clubs in for Kwesi as well, but Southend feel as though they are in front at the moment," a source close to the club has been quoted by UK tabloid, Echo.

"Crystal Palace have decided that they want Kwesi to do pre-season training with them for three or four weeks which Southend aren't too happy about."
