Lorient moved up from 18th to 16th following their 5-1 home demolition of 15th-placed Metz.

Bernard Casoni's side ran riot after the break, having gone in at half-time level at 1-1 after their opener from Michael Ciani was cancelled out by a Cheick Diabate penalty.

Majeed Waris restored Lorient's advantage soon after the interval, and a quickfire Jimmy Cabot brace and Benjamin Moukandjo strike followed.

Ghanaian striker Waris scored the second for his side to put them ahead once more four minutes after the restart. It was his ninth goal of the season.

Then Cabot scored his first on 60 minutes and the second six minutes later to give the hosts a comfortable lead.

Cameroon captain Moukandjo got the final goal on 78 minutes to seal the win and grab his 13th goal of Ligue 1.

The victory pushed Lorient up two places to 16th spot with 34 points. But they have to remain vigilant with four matches left in the season.

They have two away games against Nantes and Bastia but will host Angers and Bordeaux before the season ends on May 20.

Waris and Moukandjo have scored a combined 22 goals for Lorient this season.
