Headhunt me for Black Stars job, I won’t apply

Mohammed Polo has asked the Ghana Football Association to headhunt him for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has opened application for coaches both local and foreign ones to put in application for the coaching job of the senior national male team of Ghana.

Also it will invite coaches who are suitable to take over from Grant, even if they dont apply for the job by headhunting them.

Mohammed Polo who won the 1978 Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars and also coached Accra Hearts of Oak in 2015, believes that he has what it takes to restore the glory days of the Black Stars if the six-man committee formed by the GFA to recruit a coach headhunt him.

“The Black Stars coaching job is a dream job of every coach. I would love to grab it, but they (GFA) has set their own criteria. I have been applying for this job for long, since the time of Dosena, but I am always overlooked.

"Over the years, any local coach who is handed the Black Stars job doesn’t apply, the person is headhunted, so I am looking forward to be invited for an interview by the Ghana Football Association for a consideration, because everybody knows what I can do with regards," he told Pulse Ghana Sports.

Meanwhile, Maxwell Konadu, the assistant coach of the four times champions of Africa has been named to take charge of the team on an interim basis, before the appointment of a substantive coach.
