Hull FC captain Gareth Ellis has signed a one-year contract extension with the Super League club.
Gareth Ellis signs new Hull FC contract
Gareth Ellis said it is "a massive relief" to be remaining at Hull FC until the end of the 2017 Super League season.
The 34-year-old former Great Britain and England forward has played a key role in Hull's encouraging start to the season after recovering from an Achilles injury sustained late last year.
Ellis has been rewarded with a new deal that will keep him at Hull until the end of the 2017 campaign.
He told the club's official website: "It was one of my goals at the start of the year, knowing that my contract would be up, to secure a new deal, especially with the injury I suffered last season.
"Before I got it signed it was obviously up in the air but I was determined as I've been enjoying playing and I still want to achieve things at this club.
"To get it done is a relief and a massive motivation to do well. It has worked out well and it's nice to get it put to bed so we can crack on."
Hull are fourth in the Super League standings after winning seven of their opening 11 matches.
