Albert Agbo wins big at final MTN Invitational golf of 2018

Playing off handicap 14, Agbo shot 66 net to beat the field by three shots whilst runner-up Godwin Assem (handicap 2) only edged 3rd placed Samuel Tetteh who played off handicap 7 on countback after both men each totalled 69 net of course.

Peter Agbo, playing off handicap 3, finished a point lower to take home the fourth prize on net 70 in the one-day tournament which climaxed leading telecommunications provider, MTN’s golf competition which has already visited Achimota, Takoradi and Celebrity, Sakumono in 2018, an event where they offer opportunities for networking in a sporting atmosphere for their highly valued subscribers and also helping develop the sport.

On the other hand, Floria Hurtubise won the ladies group A with 73 points playing off handicap 13 to beat experienced old warrior, Mona Captan who played off handicap 9 only on countback as the two women went home with the only prizes on offer in that category.

It was a clear win for Eric Ofosuhene in men's group B division however with 64 net off handicap 24, three shots clear of second placed Felix A. Boateng who got 67 also playing off handicap 24 with third place going to South Korean, Seong Chill Kim who totalled 69 net after playing off handicap 18.

Vida Anang (handicap 25) and Adelaide Owusu Adjapong (19) took home the prizes on offer for women group B after amassing 73 and 74 net respectively.

Not left out were the seniors competition which saw evergreen Joe Dadson emerge the champion with 75 net off handicap 19 whilst B.B.K. Ayivor finished second on 77 net after playing off handicap 18.

Auxiliary prizes went to Mona Captan  (ladies) and Peter Daglo (men) for longest drive whilst no lady played closest to the pin which’s men prize was won by John Vdoser.

All winners went home with trophies of varying sizes alongside MTN souvenirs.

"Golf as we all know is a game for business people and MTN golf tourney attracts a lot of people especially our key stakeholders, business associates and partners. Indeed, we have seen some great tournaments this year and established strong bonds for a future that remains bright," Sam Korankye, MTN Corporate Sales Executive said in his closing remarks.
