Andy Murray eased through to the second round of the US Open with a straight-sets win over Lukas Rosol.

Olympic gold medallist Murray was largely untroubled by the unseeded Czech, recording a 6-3 6-2 6-2 win in New York on Tuesday.

Murray, winner of the tournament in 2012, will now go on to face Marcel Granollers in the next round in his search for a fourth grand-slam triumph.

While the first point of the game yielded a 22-shot rally, won by Rosol, Murray recovered from 0-30 down to take out the first game.

From there he showed why he is the world number two, easing through in three sets.

Unforced errors were Rosol's downfall, committing 45 throughout the match as Murray took the win after one hour, 52 minutes.
