The Toronto Blue Jays completed a two-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 10-4 win in the pick of Wednesday's MLB action.

Edwin Encarnacion launched a 471-foot homer, while Josh Donaldson added an RBI double with Darwin Barney also bringing in three to ensure a comfortable win for the in-form Blue Jays, whose record now stands at 54-42.

Their cause was aided by the 5-0 shut-out of the Baltimore Orioles by the New York Yankees.

Michael Pineda struck out eight as he threw 113 pitches for the win, while Mark Teixeira homered after sitting out the last three games.

The Boston Red Sox were 11-7 winners over the San Francisco Giants, the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-5, as the Miami Marlins went down to the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 and the Washington Nationals ran out 8-1 winners over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Seattle Mariners needed 11 innings to secure a 6-5 walk-off win against the Chicago White Sox on the back of Leonys Martin's second home run of the game, while the Houston Astros thrashed the Oakland Athletics 7-0 and the Tampa Bay Rays dominated the Colorado Rockies 11-3.

Anthony Rizzo hit two home runs as the Chicago Cubs beat the New York Mets 6-2, the St. Louis Cardinals were 3-2 and 4-2 victors against the San Diego Padres, the Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals 11-4 and the Minnesota Twins saw off the Detroit Tigers 4-1.

Elsewhere, the Cincinnati Reds beat the Atlanta Braves 6-3 and the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Texas Rangers 7-4.

In an 11-4 thrashing of the Royals, Tyler Naquin (three-for-four, 2 HRs) became the first Indians rookie to have six RBIs in a game since Turner Ward on September 15, 1990 - also against Kansas City.

Encarnacion hit arguably the homer of the night when he went further than any Blue Jay has this season.

Mariners slugger Martin hit a walk-off homer to beat the White Sox. It was the sixth walk-off win for the Mariners this season, tied for most in franchise history (1986).

Looking to become the first pitcher to start the season 14-0 since Roger Clemens in 1986, Nats ace Stephen Strasburg (13-0, 2.51 ERA) toes the rubber against Dodgers spot starter Julio Urias (1-2, 4.95 ERA), who gave up two runs over five innings against Washington on June 22.
