Imad Wasim thinks Pakistan have the ability to turn the tide and mount a comeback to win the one-day international series against England.

The tourists lost the first two matches and another defeat would give Eoin Morgan's men an unassailable lead with two games remaining.

While Pakistan recently moved to the top of the Test rankings, they have dropped to ninth in the ODI ladder, but all-rounder Imad believes they are better than that and has not given up hope of beating England.

"With the talent we've got, I don't think it's a number nine team," said the 27-year-old.

"We have to show that in big matches like [Tuesday]. I believe we can come back. We have to work hard, trust ourselves and show our skills in front of the cameras.

"It's the first time we've ever been number nine in the world.

"But if we stay united – which we are – we're going to show the cricketing world what we're capable of, just like we did in the Test matches. We're number one in them and we're really looking forward to putting our rankings up in the one-dayers."

Ben Stokes is set to resume bowling in Nottingham after recovering from a calf injury and Imad knows that will make life even more difficult for Pakistan.

"He's a great cricketer, a genuine all-rounder and one of the best," said Imad.

"When Ben Stokes [is able to] to bowl, England are definitely even stronger. But if we get ourselves right, we're going to give them a tough time."
