Foran, 25, requires surgery after damaging the bicep tendon in his shoulder during the Eels' 20-18 win over the Newcastle Knights on Monday.

The Eels on Tuesday confirmed the half-back would miss the remainder of the campaign.

"Dyldam Parramatta Eels captain Kieran Foran has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2016 season after sustaining a shoulder injury on Monday night," a statement read.

Eels centre Brad Takairangi suffered a hamstring strain and will miss at least four weeks.

The win over the Knights was the Eels' first since it was announced they face a 12-point penalty for breaches of the salary cap.
