The Washington Nationals coughed up a ninth-inning lead to suffer a dramatic MLB loss to the Cleveland Indians.

A Francisco Lindor walk-off single proved decisive as the Indians scored three times in the ninth to claim a 7-6 win.

The Toronto Blue Jays also left it late, scoring three times in the bottom of the 12th for a 7-6 win over the San Diego Padres.

The Los Angeles Angels crushed the Kansas City Royals 13-0 and the New York Yankees claimed a 6-3 win over the Houston Astros.

A four-run eighth inning set up the Miami Marlins' 5-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, while the Detroit Tigers edged the Boston Red Sox 9-8.

The New York Mets and St Louis Cardinals split their doubleheader, the latter winning 3-2 before losing 3-1.

The Chicago White Sox were 3-0 winners over the Cubs, the Seattle Mariners claimed a 7-4 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Colorado Rockies overcame the Baltimore Orioles 6-3.

The Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2, while the San Francisco Giants were too good for the Cincinnati Reds in a 9-7 win.

The Atlanta Braves shut out the Minnesota Twins 2-0, the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-4 and the Oakland Athletics had a 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers.

In his first game in nearly two years, Angels left-hander Tyler Skaggs scattered three hits over seven scoreless innings in a rout of the Royals, who have dropped 15 of their past 21 games.

The Blue Jays' Devon Travis broke for home on a wild pitch by the Padres' Paul Clemens to score the game-winning run in the bottom of the 12th in walk-off fashion.

With a homer in his third consecutive game, Alex Dickerson extended the Padres' home run streak to 24 games, now just three shy of the MLB record.

Aces duel in Cleveland as Washington Nationals star Stephen Strasburg (13-1, 2.83 ERA) and Carlos Carrasco (7-3, 2.31 ERA) meet. Strasburg is coming off his first loss of the season while Carrasco has been on a roll, posting a 1.56 ERA in his last eight starts.
