A right shoulder injury will see Cleveland Indians catcher Yan Gomes miss between six to eight weeks, the MLB franchise announced.

The Indians placed Gomes on the 15-day disabled list on Monday after the 2014 Silver Slugger suffered an acromioclavicular (AC) joint separation.

Gomes injured his shoulder following a fall at first base in the fifth inning of Cleveland's 6-1 win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.

With the 28-year-old starter – who will not require surgery – sidelined, the Indians have activated Robert Perez from the 60-day DL.
