Jason Robinson suspects Stuart Lancaster will be one of many coaches interested in taking over at Bath.

Bath are in the market for a new head coach after Mike Ford left the Premiership club on Monday following a disappointing season.

Lancaster has been out of work since losing his post as England head coach last November after a dismal World Cup on home soil.

Former England and Bath winger Robinson thinks the Bath role could be an attractive proposition for Lancaster, who has also been linked with a move to Super Rugby side the Reds.

Speaking at the publication of the HSBC Future of Rugby report, Robinson told Omnisport: "Bath is a great club, they haven't had the best of seasons but there's so much potential down there.

"You look at the players they have got, the history they have got and the backing of Bruce Craig [Bath chairman]. It's certainly a job a lot of people will want to take on, we will wait and see.

"I'm sure Stuart Lancaster will be one of many that would certainly consider a role down at the Rec."

Former South Africa coach Heyneke Meyer and Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder have also been mentioned as potential successors to Ford.

The HSBC Future of Rugby report revealed that participation in the sport could reach 15 million by 2026, with women set to be the primary growth driver, representing more than 40 per cent of worldwide rugby union players in a decade's time.
